Vampire blood lips

If you were asked what is my favourite colour, I am quite sure you would bet for black
Mostly because a good 95% of my wardrobe belongs to that tonality.
Nevertheless, you would be wrong. My absolute fav is red, specifically a type of red shade dancing between burgundy, ruby and crimson BUT it is so difficult to find pretty clothes on that colour to match with black... so I basically focus on red lips instead of red clothing.

One should be always practical, after all.
Well, the major problem hoax is that, as long as makeup is far cheaper than clothes, I am always wandering around to see if I can find another red shade; or most exactly: the prefect red shade
(a.k.a. "another damned red lipstick" if you pay attention to The Gentle One´s bitter words at any shopping journey). But men do not distinguish too many chromatic differences, or at least that´s what I say to myself for avoiding the final logical conclusion:
when you really like something, you buy multiple versions of it, just to make sure you will always, always have it, which makes me feel pretty much like a maniac.

So as I accidentally (ahem...) passed through Flormar, I decided to go in and have a look to their red lipsticks. As a matter of fact, I don´t wear lipgloss usually. However, I discovered their Long Wearing shades and this decadent blood burgundy colour caught my eye. Since the very moment I tried the tester on my hand, I was totally sold to it.
I mean, how can you possibly say no to a product that makes you look like you just drank the blood of your enemies

PLUS, as they promise, the duration is really good, even if you eat/drink.
Another thing I totally love about it, is that does not dry my lips at all, which is a problem I frequently find about long lasting products.
I must say I am quite happy about this purchase ♥

So tell me darlings, have you been trying something new lately?

    1. Blood colour is as beautiful as difficult to find, I guess. This is the first time I actually manage to get a similar shade, not even a single chance before. Many thanks for the flattery, being called a vampire is a huge thing ;)

  2. I've never heard of this brand before (maybe we don't get it in the US?) but this color is amazing! It's really the ideal Gothy red.

Your photos are amazing. I've seen your talent grow and grow over the time I've been following your blog, and I truly enjoy it!!

    1. Flormar is an unexpensive but reasonably good quality European brand, unfortunately they don´t own any shop in the US (but you can find them in Canada, maybe you can buy online?).

I want to thank you for your very nice words, they are very touching. Your blog was one of my main inspirational models when I first opened mine, so for me is really shocking and flattering you think I am any talented. I am very happy to know you enjoy by reading it :)

  3. I understand you perfectly! A girl never has enough lipsticks! What I have discovered are the new Manic Panic cross glosses. They are to die for!!! And I also have to admit that I am a big fan of Lime Crime glosses. I think that a black velvet gloss from Lime Crime will be my next purchase. I also have a lot of velvet glosses in other shades waiting for being sold at the Dark Market. And, I have to say that you look stunning in the last pic! <3 <3 <3

    1. I have never experienced Manic Panic or Lime Crime lip products (although I tried Many Panic white compact powder many years ago, and I was quite contempt about its coverage. Much better than Stargaze quality, anyway). I definitely need to try velvet glosses too, for me it sounds like an interesting texture. This one is more of the wet effect type, which is also good, as the effect is quite realistic for blood look.

Oh, and many thanks for the words about the last picture! ♥

  4. I love darker red lipsticks in cherry or burgandy but I haven't owned any in a long time. I currently have a bright red lipstick and it looks too orange, like a tomatoe! I'd love to get a darker one someday.

    1. I am sure you can find interesting darker shades if you look for it. There are a bunch of unexpensive but acceptable quality brands on the market. If you live in Europe, Mexico or Canada, I can totally recommend Flormar to you (this beautiful lipgloss was just around five euros). Other than that, you can also try Kiko Cosmetics, they offer cheap prices and for me the same quality range than Sephora. If you lare based in the UK, try Barry M. Cosmetics. Their pigmantation is quite good, specially for nail polish. I would like to give a word of advice for the US too, but I am afraid I don´t use their brands that much, as European ones are far easier to purchase for me.

  5. I love a deep blood red lipstick! I had a perfect one that came from a now closed makeup shop. It got dropped and destroyed, and I cried so hard!

    1. Oh, it is very annoying when you find the perfect product for you and the brand is suddenly discontinued. That happened a couple of times to me and it is quite frustrating. One of my sisters has developed the cautious rule of buying products in big quantities, in case her usual retailer runs off the product and she has to look for a different stockist.

  6. Woah, I'm sold to this blood lip concept!
While I rarely wear red lip nowadays, because I believe they clash too much with my coloured hair :(
I do miss it. Blood lips are so sexy (sexier than red lips!)

Ah, colour perception for men, such a sad story. :D
I love that last photo! Gorgeous!

    1. I totally agree the only thing sexier than red lips are blood red lips ;)
You made a point about coloured hair: long time ago, I used to colour my hair on a deep fantasy red, so I found totally imposible to paint my lips the same shade and not to look like a shabby 80´s movie star...

  7. It has the perfect blood red tone!! Lovely. The stroke on your arm looks like a drop had fallen and began running on your skin :). I also think it's difficult to find a perfect red.

    1. Yes, it is madness how many red shades you can buy until you find the perfect one. Indeed, I am not over yet, as I would like to get the exact same colour in velveteen effect too. I am very happy about this one, though.

    1. I guess you just need to find a lipstick with a good pigmentation. It makes such a big difference!

  9. That's a really good red; I might have to invest in some. I have a modest selection of red lipsticks from the vibrant to the bloody to the purpled, and wear whichever matches my mood, but my three favourites right now are "russet" by Miss Beauty London (which is really bloody), "rose" by Barbara Daly for Tesco (which the closest to my natural colour but yet still being definitely lipstick) and Berry Charms by Nivea (which goes best with my green hair.).

    1. I have not heard before about Miss Beauty London, so I´ll have a look to their products. Thankie for mentioning! Apart from that, I think it´s great you experiment so much with lipstick shades. I am pretty much stucked on (practically identical, as my boyfriends likes to point out) red products. I am very fond of purple too, but it is quite difficult to find wearable tones on that colour. Even so, fortunately I am a brunette, chich makes far easier to match any shade. Being green coloured must be quite problematic to match lipstick!
